Google's Pixel 5 might be coming on Oct. 8.

This is according to a blog post on Google France (via 9to5Google), which plainly said that Google Pixel 5, as well as the 5G version of the Pixel 4a, will be available for pre-order on Oct. 8, 2020. The post has since been amended to remove the offending sentence, but it's still visible on Google Cache.

Of course, one blog post does not mean Google has truly committed to this date, and even if it has, the company could change its mind at any time. The date is likely to be accurate, though, as Google typically launches new phones in October.

The Pixel 5 was announced somewhat surprisingly, together with the Pixel 4a and the 5G version of the 4a earlier this week. The company didn't share any specifics about the Pixel 5, except that it will support 5G.

Notably, Google quietly (but officially) discontinued its Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL phones yesterday, leaving the Pixel 4a as the only Google phone available on its U.S. store (and only as a pre-order). It seems we'll have to wait until October for more Google phones to become available.

When the Pixel 4a (5G) and Pixel 5 do become available, it will happen in the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Japan, Taiwan, and Australia. Google promised to share more information about these devices "in the coming months."
